Braves Game

Fortunately for me, my buddy Billy Cone double booked himself on Friday night.
That left 4 free tickets to the Braves game.
Its a shame too. He got some really nice tickets and the weather was perfect.
Here's me and Terri
And our friends Stuart and Christina
Messing around with my new point and shoot.

Trellis

I always say use the right tool for the job.
Well, I'm not sure this is the right tool, but it certainly did a better job than the one I started with.
My dad had graciously given me his old Craftsman router, and I thought It might be a good tool to make the grooves I wanted for the uprights on my new trellis.
Apparently routers and pressure treated wood don't get along very well.
So I bought this circular saw and an edge guide.
I made a series of cuts the length of the boards.

Using the depth setting on the saw platform I got the depth I wanted.
After the series of cuts, I used a wood chisel to clear the channel.
During the installation I had to use some good 'ol fashioned engineerity.
I had some trouble getting the uprights square, so I coxed them into place with some rope.
I actually had to loosed the screws to get the second pannel in place.
So the uprights are a little longer than they need to be. They will get cut off when I determine how high my wife want the cross member on the top.
In the background you can see the existing fence trellis that is the inspiration for this trellis and matching style.
